We Dare You to Ditch Plastic.
During July, we invite you to go on a room-by-room journey to a more plastic-free home, one easy swap at a time, joining millions of people around the world taking part in Plastic Free July.
July is the perfect month to take a closer look at where plastic shows up in your everyday routines. Each week, we'll focus on one area - oral care, bathroom, kitchen, and on-the-go - and show you simple, plastic-free options and the difference they can make. No big overhaul. Just simple swaps you can actually keep.
Scroll down to join our Plastic-Free July dares, explore eco-friendly alternatives, discover our curated kits, and enter to win a plastic-free bundle worth over $85, with something for the bathroom, the kitchen, and laundry day.
Four Weeks. Four Dares.
Which one will you take first?
Dare #1
Plastic-Free Oral Care
Your toothbrush will outlast you by about 450 years. Your toothpaste tube isn't much better. Try swapping just one item: how about trying a bamboo toothbrush? Or discovering toothpaste tablets? Or switching to plant-based dental floss?
Dare #2
Re-Imagine Your Bathroom
The average bathroom holds a dozen plastic bottles - shampoo, conditioner, body wash - plus plastic razor handles, plastic brushes, and more. Try swapping just one item: how about long-lasting solid bar alternatives? Or a bamboo hairbrush or comb? Or a sisal shower glove?
Dare #3
Let's Free Your Kitchen From Plastic
Plastic wrap, sponges, produce bags, dish soap bottles... The kitchen hides plastic in plain sight. Try swapping just one staple: how about switching to beeswax wraps instead of plastic wrap? Or a dish soap bar instead of a bottle? Or a Swedish dishcloth that replaces 17 rolls of paper towels?
Dare #4
When On-The-Go
Take a look at what you grab when you head out the door. A plastic water bottle? Plastic wrap for your snacks? A handful of plastic bags? Try swapping just one: how about a stainless steel water bottle you'll use for years? Or a reusable market bag that folds into your pocket? Or snack bags you can wash and use again?
More Than a Dare
At Ciclado, we believe that sustainable living should be accessible and practical, not overwhelming, and not expensive.
We curate products that are plastic-free, compostable, reusable, or beautifully re-purposed. And every July, we join the global Plastic Free July movement and we dare ourselves, and you, to take one more step toward a home and a routine with a little less plastic in it.
We also plant one tree for every order, and a few times a year you'll find us volunteering at beach and park clean-ups around the Bay Area in California. If you're local, we'd love for you to join us.
